So, over the long weekend, our CG plus friends of CG members did a road trip to Malacca. We went up in 3 cars and it was a long 3 hrs drive up but nonetheless eventful, fulfilling, enjoyable and all of us had a whale of a time! The roads were jam packed with Singaporean holiday makers. We were on the roads since 6 plus in the morning and I only got home at 2am this morning, totally spaced out coz we were stuck in the jam back to Singapore for about 2 hours or so. Also managed to do some shopping at Malacca and JB. I bought another pair of shoes and a very pretty earring stand. Here were some of the highlights of the trip:

Francis was our chauffeur for the day.

Streets of Malacca
The facade of 1 of the historical buildings

Spotted a Tamil Methodist Church. Wondering if they conduct their services in Tamil. Interesting. Hah.

Outskirts of Jonker Walk

Here we are...!We had the famous chicken rice here for lunch. The chicken rice was served in the form of rice balls. Simply delectable!

This was inside the chicken rice restaurant

Outside some war memorial building

We went to the same restaurant as the other time for seafood dinner at Grand Straits restaurant.

On the way back to Singapore after a hearty dinner

Can't seem to upload the rest of the pics from Elvi's camera on my blog coz they're too huge so check out facebook for the rest...

My earring stand...it's 3/4 filled

My disappointment has become my new appointment! Yes, I landed myself a new job at ICPAS(Institute of Certified Public Accountants of S'pore) and boy, am I elated. I've been yearning for a job at this organisation the moment I sent out my resume, hoping that there would be some form of response and indeed, they called me up for the interview. I was interviewed by a panel of 3, the HR manager, the marketing manager and the marketing director. I think the marketing director was very impressed by me and he gave me very positive vibes after the interview so over the weekend I kept my fingers crossed. On Monday morning, I was awakened by a call from the HR manager who congratulated me that I was selected for the job. I ain't complaining about the salary too coz they're able to match very closely to my expected. Teehee. Happy happy joy joy. Thank God for the job and his faithfulness. Throughout the harrowing month of April, I exercised my faith and claimed the promises in his word daily and it saw me through. Another highlight was Emily's wedding lunch at Marina Mandarin last week and since she's leaving us for Japan very soon, we presented a song item to her which moved her to tears. Take care Emily, you'll be greatly missed by E380!

[Friday, April 11, 2008 . ]

Of late, I've been feeling disheartened about the prodigious change in my career path and disgruntled about why the world we live in is so unfair. There is so much injustice in this world we live in but I decided to drop the matter altogether and move on with my life and forgive those who trespass against me. A big thanks to my friends who provided a listening ear, encouragement and words of wisdom at my lowest point. So, I met up with the ACE team and Mag for shopping and dinner. Perhaps we should call ourselves the MACE team now, with the inclusion of Mag. Headed to Ah Yat Seafood for a feast and ate to our hearts' content after we were done with shopping at Marina Square and Suntec. A pity I didn't have a voracious appetite yesterday so I stopped once my stomach reached maximum capacity. My dear friends, the food at Ah Yat is simply DIVINE!Highly recommended if you're craving for Authentic Chinese cuisine. First up was...

Drunken prawns

followed by....Abalone

then Spinach

Garoupa!(The highlight of the night & the best fish I've tasted so far). It was soooo good that it left me speechless...omg

Chilli crab

Black pepper crab

1 portion of Mantou + 1 more plate

Yours truly attacking the food & some classic shots of the rest...

And of course, at the end of the smorgasbord of dishes, we had dessert. I ain't a fan of chinese desserts so I passed on that but nonetheless, we left as happy patrons!Cheers to MACE!

Happy Easter to all!

It's high time I resurrect my blog!I've been neglecting this instrument for awhile as I've been so freakin' busy since the beginning of March. Anyway, I heart LONG weekends and I finally get some respite this weekend & AWAY from work. I realised I haven't had much of a social life lately & this weekend has so far, been well-spent catching up with friends. My bestie invited the ACE team to her house on Good Friday for lunch. I'm so impressed with her cooking skills. It's time I get down to learn how to cook something decent. So, we had laksa as the main and almond jelly for dessert. I finally got to meet Alvin's gf, Mag!I've been procrastinating on quite a number of meet-ups with the ACE team and boy do I feel bad about it but this weekend's meet-up finally came to pass. I also brought my bestie to church today and after which, we met Alvin & Mag again for dinner this time. Headed to IMM for some shopping later. Over these past 2 days, I've embarked on a shopping spree again. Got myself a Balenciaga wallet and another pair of shoes. I'm a happy girl this weekend!

Alvin & Mag!

Yummy almond jelly

The pretty collage which Alvin & bestie did for me!Thanks peeps!

So, my new job's been challenging and I've been working my ass off...all the workshops, seminars and exhibitions. There's no room for screw ups and messing around in this new job. My CEO can be tyrannical sometimes if people don't get their work done properly. Sometimes I just wish the pace of life here would be slower. If only the lifestyle here is like laid-back Aussie. So, CNY is finally over and our cg had a steamboat and hotplate session at xy's place...

A couple of days ago, my dad collected his new car and bade farewell to our faithful Suzuki MPV. There were only 6 units in Singapore at the time he collected it...woohoo!(I love cars that are uncommon)

The new mazda 6 - I heart the colour in ebony mica(good choice)

Happy CNY to all!

So, the long weekend for CNY is over, sadly. I've been resting for the past week and it's back to work for me tomorrow, a new job and a fresh start. January was indeed an eventful month with some transitions going on in my life with major decisions to make. Oh well, that's the beauty of life, ain't it? Last week, I caught up with some friends from Uni and JC and we headed to Zouk.

Hohoho...Merry Christmas y'all. Tis the season to be jolly!

I dropped the 'bomb' on my company today. Yes, I've tendered my resignation and I'm starting my new job after CNY next year. Well, another transition but hey, without transition, there cannot be transformation!

So the ACE team headed to Oosters for a Christmas eve luncheon and though it's with a hint of sadness that the ACE team is soon to be defunct, I know our friendship will go a long way and we could still do regular meet-ups yea? We had our share of scrumptious food coupled with some alcohol to spice up the occasion. Bestie and I had half a pint of Hoegaarden while Alvin had a full pint. Here comes the food galore...

Sausage platter

Vol au vent

Mussels...1 of the signature dishes and my fav!

Hoegaarden Cod

Alv THE alcoholic

Thanks for the yummylicious lunch treat bestie, cheers to the ACE team once again!I'm proud of you guys!
